A menu including beef and lamb joints roasted in a camp oven, with all the trimmings of roast and sweet potatoes, corn on the cob etc, followed by a traditional pudding will be served in a period setting of coaches in showroom condition.
Wednesday night is the banquet night. DO NOT DRESS UP - except perhaps in an olde worlde bush style like these photographs.
The banquet will start with the Bush Bar - champagne,
wine and punch will flow freely, while spirits can be purchased if you
must. (Of course, stubbies of beer will be free!) When suitably
mellow, you make your way upstairs to see a mining wagon hauled up by horse,
with the pots of camp oven beef and lamb and all the trimmings.
When you can eat no more and have finished off the
wine, you stagger back down for entertainment and dessert, coffee or billy
tea, singing and recitations. If you can summon up any energy you
will be persuaded to join in a line dance. A ride in an antique carriage
will halp shake down your meal, leaving room for a glass of port, muscat
or cognac.
