Welcome to the M2VIP Conference Website.2022 was the 28th in the series of the international M2VIP conferences that have successfully focused on mechatronics in practice. For 2019, the conference was held in Toowoomba Australia on the campus of the University of Southern Queensland. Delegates were able to enjoy both intriguing discussion on the latest in mechatronics whilst interesting social events enabled them to fulfill a close encounter with regional Australia. After a strenuous day of presentations, the first dinner was held a dining car at the Downs Steam Heritage Railway Museum. The second evening event was a barbecue on the edge of the Great Dividing Range. I hope that delegates will send in some of their photos to display here. Location: The conference was held at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia and hosted by the Research Centre for Agricultural Engineering. The accommodation was in the university's McGregor College in Baker Street and the presentation location was close by. Schedule and paper presentation: The schedule of presentations had a few amendments due to visa problems. Toowoomba: Toowoomba is the largest inland regional city of Australia and benefits from a strong growing economy, and the range of facilities expected of a larger city. Located at an altitude of 700m on the Great Dividing Range there are spectacular views in this ‘Garden city’ with many flowers and parks. Major industries of the region are Mining, food and agriculture. Mechatronics through automation is contributing widely to business success. The University of Southern Queensland (USQ): USQ is an established University across 3 campuses with modern facilities. The largest campus is based in South West Toowoomba. Research and education of the University is well recognised globally, and the strength in engineering and science is a direct and relevant resource supporting leading regional industries. www.usq.edu.au Papers have already been published in the next book in the Springer series. |
Remarks on the conference series 'Mechatronics' has become accepted for
what it is, the blending of mechanics,
electronics and computer control into an integrated
design. Degree courses in mechatronics are now
widespread. It continues to be the basis of an ever growing list of products and techniques of great technical and commercial value. Mechatronic design can result in products which are much simpler than their intricate and costly predecessors and can make commonplace the miracles of yesterday. Machine-vision has emerged from the laboratory to find real applications in areas which include vehicle guidance, robot control and agriculture. Low-cost cameras have been developed for multimedia applications - but with their ease of interfacing they offer a whole new field of low-cost vision-based control. Like its predecessors, M2VIP 2019 will provide a forum for international experts and researchers to present and review advances in mechatronics and machine vision which have culminated in practical applications, or which promise practical implementation in the very near future.Presentations are encouraged to include video material of experimental systems. |
We are grateful for the support of the University of Southern Queensland and of Toowoomba
and Surat Basin Enterprise.
